Ben Shapiro is the primary voice raising concerns over Vice President JD Vance’s scheduled Friday photo op with Iranian official Mohammad Ghalibaf, described as someone who supports terrorists in Lebanon.
He notes that the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (or temporary ceasefire) in Switzerland will include Ghalibaf (described as an IRGC stand-in and terror-linked figure) meeting with Vance.
Shapiro criticized the high-profile “gigantic photo op” and handshake, calling it a “visual slap in the face” to the tens of thousands of Iranians killed by the regime and its allies (aligning with the post’s mention of ~42,000 civilian deaths).
