Rav Berger’s levaya will take place this evening in Boro Park, in front of the Klausenberg shul on 50th St. between 14th and 15th Ave. The exact time will be confirmed once the flight is en route.

Rav Berger, 43, was also a maggid shiur in the Rivnitz Yeshiva, led by Rav Shulem Landau. Rav Landau had posted an urgent appeal earlier this week asking for help bringing the body back for kevurah, after Swiss authorities initially held it up. He later said Rep. Lawler’s office had reached out and was working on the matter.

While Switzerland generally permits immediate burials, individual cantons have specific protocols governing unexpected deaths of previously healthy individuals, which had delayed the release.
