Head of Caucasus Mafia Ianis Yushbaev Shot Dead at Gas Station Near Caesarea
A violent underworld hit shook the area near Caesarea, where 40-year-old Ianis Yushbaev—identified as the head of the Caucasus Mafia and a primary target of the Coastal District’s central unit—was shot dead at a local gas station.
Medical personnel pronounced the man dead after he sustained critical gunshot wounds. Police forces launched a massive manhunt across the region to track down the shooter, setting up roadblocks and scouring surrounding areas while forensic teams gathered evidence at the station.
Yushbaev had a long and turbulent history with local law enforcement, having been targeted in previous criminal investigations, arrested upon returning from abroad, and linked to turf wars and localized extortion syndicates in the Sharon region. Authorities suspect the shooting was a carefully planned underworld assassination, and the investigation remains ongoing as officers search for the perpetrator.
