Charedi Travelers Attacked in Judea and Samaria Did Not Provoke Incident, Police Say

Israeli police have confirmed following a preliminary investigation that a group of Israeli travelers was targeted with life-threatening stone-throwing on the outskirts of the village of Sa’ir.

The incident unfolded when security forces and local responders stepped in to protect the group. According to police findings, the travelers were regular citizens out for a trip in the area and did not engage in any provocative behavior.

Three Palestinian suspects were arrested in connection with the attack following joint operations involving military forces and police intelligence. Authorities noted that a local security coordinator who rushed to the scene fired warning shots and subsequently targeted individuals who continued to endanger the group before forces secured the area and evacuated the travelers. The report also noted that there were Palestinian casualties resulting from the gunfire, and Palestinians reported that a 17-year-old was killed.
