🚨FBI arrests Ohio man accused of threatening to kill Jewish Rep. Randy Fine and his family
The FBI arrested an Ohio man who allegedly threatened to kill US Representative Randy Fine (R-FL), the Justice Department announced Tuesday.
Alex Justin Miller, 26, of Columbus, Ohio, was charged with interstate transmission of a threat to injure. According to the DOJ, Miller sent Fine a “true threat” in an August 18 email, the day of Fine’s primary election, threatening to kill the congressman and his family.
“I cannot wait to take a trip to your lovely home and light the whole place on fire and murder you and your entire family in the middle of the night while you sleep,” Miller allegedly wrote. He called Fine, who is Jewish, a “Nazi” and told him to “sleep with one eye open,” saying he would “never stop until [his] head is hanging from the rooftops of the White House.” The email ended, “DEATH TO RANDY FINE AND DEATH TO DONALD TRUMP!!!”
Miller faces up to five years in prison if convicted. Fine and his family were in Florida when the threat was made.
Fine thanked federal and local law enforcement on X, writing, “If they think this will make me afraid, they are wrong.” He said there is “no place in our political system” for such threats and that perpetrators will go to prison. Fine said three others had previously been prosecuted for death threats against him.
Fine, while serving his first term, was endorsed by President Donald Trump and AIPAC. Earlier this month, he defeated influencer Dan Bilzerian in Florida’s 6th District GOP primary. Bilzerian, known for antisemitic rhetoric, invoked Adolf Hitler and the district’s “Jewish problem” during the campaign and received 18% of the vote when the Associated Press called the race.
