Feeding Our Future fraud ringleader Aimee Bock sentenced to 41+ years in prison
Aimee Bock, the convicted ringleader of Minnesota’s $250 million Feeding Our Future fraud scheme, was sentenced Thursday to more than 40 years in prison.
The judge sentenced Bock to 500 months and ordered her to repay nearly $243 million to the federal government. Last year, a jury convicted her on multiple counts, including conspiracy to commit wire fraud and conspiracy to commit federal programs bribery. Prosecutors said she led the nation’s largest pandemic fraud scheme, diverting tens of millions meant to feed hungry children.
“Aimee Bock didn’t participate in fraud, she orchestrated it, profited on it,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Rebeca Kline said before sentencing.
Bock’s attorney, Kenneth Udoibok, called the crime “a case of gross negligence,” saying Bock believed she was helping participants “be good citizens and be in this program.”
Before sentencing, the judge said Bock “acted as a gatekeeper,” played “an integral role in planning the scheme” and lied during her testimony.
Prosecutors sought a 50-year sentence, citing damage to the state, a lack of accountability and remorse, and accusations Bock leaked protected documents while in custody.
Court filings say Bock used recorded jail calls to direct her son to send case documents to political figures and media outlets, including protected witness information. A judge called the actions “really disturbing” during an April hearing.
Dozens of others have also been convicted in the scheme.
