IDF kills Hezbollah terrorist posing as journalist in targeted Lebanon strike
A journalist with ties to Hezbollah was killed when an Israeli airstrike hit a vehicle in the southern Lebanese town of Jezzine, according to Lebanese reports later confirmed by the IDF.
The military said that Ali Shoeib, of Al-Manar TV, was also part of Hezbollah’s Radwan Force, working in its intelligence branch. It alleged he used his role in the media as a cover while helping the group, including identifying Israeli troop positions in southern Lebanon and near the border, staying in contact with other operatives, and continuing this work during the war with Iran.
In addition to intelligence activities, the IDF said Shaib used his position to promote Hezbollah messaging and incite against Israeli troops and civilians by disseminating propaganda materials.
The strike also reportedly killed Fatima Ftouni, a reporter affiliated with the Hezbollah-linked Al-Mayadeen channel, according to the network.
