IDF Spokesperson:
A short while ago, approximately 40 Israeli civilians gathered near the border fence with Syria. After a few minutes, they crossed the fence and moved several hundred meters into Syrian territory.
An IDF force operating at the location returned all the civilians back to Israeli territory and detained them at the scene.

The detained civilians were transferred to the Israel Police for further handling.
The IDF strongly condemns the incident and emphasizes that this is a serious offense, constituting a criminal act that endangers both the civilians and IDF forces.
