Targeted strike removes key figure involved in planning attacks against Israel.
IDF & Shin Bet Eliminate Hamas Khan Younis Brigade Intelligence Chief
The IDF and Shin Bet announced that they carried out a targeted strike yesterday, eliminating Mohammed Abu Shaleh, the head of military intelligence for Hamas’ Khan Younis Brigade.
According to the statement, Abu Shaleh served as a key intelligence officer for senior brigade leadership during the war and was involved in planning the October 7 massacre in the Khan Younis sector. In recent weeks, he was reportedly working in violation of agreements to rebuild Hamas’ operational capabilities in Gaza and to plan attacks against IDF forces and Israeli civilians.
The strike was conducted with precision in order to remove what was described as an immediate threat to IDF troops. Prior to the operation, steps were taken to minimize civilian harm, including the use of precision-guided munitions, aerial surveillance, and additional intelligence measures.
