IDF Eliminates October 7 Zikim Base Infiltrator and Hamas Sniper in Gaza Strip
The Israel Defense Forces neutralized a prominent Hamas terrorist in the southern Gaza Strip over the weekend, removing an immediate threat to operating forces.
During a targeted operation led by the Southern Command on Friday, Israeli forces eliminated Luai Hisham Mahmoud Bazal, a skilled sniper belonging to Hamas’s Zeitoun Battalion. Following a detailed intelligence assessment, the IDF confirmed that Bazal was actively planning and executing imminent terror attacks against Israeli forces operating in the sector.
A subsequent intelligence review revealed that Bazal was among the heavily armed terrorists who infiltrated the Zikim military base during the October 7 massacre, participating directly in the assault.
Military officials emphasized that Southern Command forces remain strategically deployed throughout the region in accordance with ongoing operational agreements, and the military will continue to take decisive action to eliminate any immediate threats to its personnel.
