Iran War Ignites $4.5 Trillion Market Bloodbath
The S&P 500 has suffered a stunning $4.5 trillion wipeout in market capitalization since United States and Israeli strikes sparked the Iran war on February 28.
Investors have fled risky assets amid soaring oil prices now above 100 dollars a barrel and fears of renewed inflation.
Technology shares led the carnage with Meta Platforms plunging nearly 19 percent and Nvidia dropping more than 13 percent.
Eight of the eleven S&P 500 sectors posted heavy losses highlighting a broad risk off panic.
The Nasdaq has now entered correction territory more than 10 percent off its peak.
