🚨 Defense Minister Israel Katz: “Beirut’s Dahiyeh Will Be Treated Like Israel’s Northern Communities”
Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that in response to ceasefire violations by Hezbollah and rocket fire toward northern Israeli communities, he and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the Israel Defense Forces to strike terrorist targets in Beirut’s Dahiyeh district.
He warned that “Dahiyeh in Beirut will be treated like Israel’s northern towns,” adding that if there is no calm in the north of Israel, there will be no calm in Beirut. He stressed that Israel will not allow a situation in which its citizens are targeted while Beirut remains untouched.
Katz added that the Israel Defense Forces continue to operate with firepower and ground activity against Hezbollah operatives and infrastructure in Lebanon, claiming significant operational gains and a steady degradation of the group’s capabilities. He said the objective is to push threats away from Israeli forces and civilians and to turn the Litani River area into a security-controlled zone free of weapons and militants.
He concluded by expressing support for IDF commanders and soldiers, saying Israel is fulfilling its commitment to restore security to northern residents.
