Prosecutors allege the reserve officer shared details from confidential briefings with a civilian associate who then wagered on the timing of operations and later split the profits which reached well over one hundred thousand dollars.
The activity centered on the June 2025 strikes against Iran as well as subsequent actions in Yemen. The development follows an earlier case from February in which a separate officer charged with selling classified intelligence claimed that gambling was widespread throughout the entire Air Force.
The cases have drawn attention to the risks of insider knowledge being used on prediction markets for personal gain while raising questions about operational security within the force.
