Israeli Officials Fear Trump Pressure on Lebanon Withdrawal Could Escalate – Maariv

Israeli officials fear that President Trump’s pressure on Prime Minister Netanyahu to withdraw from southern Lebanon will not end with the U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding, but could intensify during negotiations on a final agreement, according to Maariv.

They are concerned that the growing public rift between Trump and Netanyahu could lead to concrete measures, including delays in weapons shipments, restrictions on military aid, or steps resembling an arms embargo.

Israeli officials also believe U.S. pressure for a withdrawal from southern Lebanon and the Syrian Hermon is likely to increase.
