Israeli Soldiers Suspected of Spying for Iran
A newly uncovered investigation by the Shin Bet and Israeli police centers on two active-duty soldiers who have been under arrest for about a month on suspicion of spying for Iranian elements during their military service.
According to the allegations, the soldiers were tasked with transferring sensitive information, including locations of military systems, bases, and weaponry, as well as details about senior officials, among them Minister Bezalel Smotrich. The case was first reported by i24NEWS.
At the outset of the investigation, several additional soldiers were detained, including some from sensitive units. Their cases were later handed over to the Military Police Criminal Investigation Division.
An indictment is expected in the coming week and is likely to include the grave charge of aiding the enemy during wartime.
