Jerusalem Launches First Section of New Green Line Light Rail
The Ministry of Transport and the Jerusalem Municipality have officially launched the L3 line, representing the first phase of the city’s Green Line light rail project.
This new seven-kilometer route connects the Haturim Station to the Malha Station, providing transit links through neighborhoods including Givat Mordechai, Pat, and Gonenim.
The line connects several major city hubs, including the Government Quarter, the Givat Ram campus, the Malha Sports Complex, and the Binyanei Ha’Uma Convention Center. The route is designed to synchronize with the existing Red Line and the Yitzhak Navon Railway Station.
Additional phases of the network, which will extend connections to Gilo and Mount Scopus, are expected to open in the coming months.
