Lebanon Declares Iranian Ambassador Persona Non Grata
The Lebanese government has officially declared the Iranian ambassador persona non grata, effectively ending his diplomatic mission in Beirut.
According to reports from Al-Hadath, the decision was delivered with a firm ultimatum: the ambassador is no longer welcome and must leave the country by Sunday.
This move follows weeks of internal pressure and a broader shift in Lebanese policy aimed at asserting national sovereignty.
The expulsion comes after the government recently banned all IRGC activity and imposed new visa requirements on Iranian nationals.
Lebanese officials reportedly characterized the move as a necessary step to distance the country from Tehran’s regional military operations.
