Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf Re-elected as Iranian Parliament Speaker, Solidifying Role as Top Negotiator
Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf was re-elected as the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, reinforcing his position as the most powerful political figure in Tehran amid critical international talks.
Ghalibaf, who also serves as the head of the Iranian negotiation delegation, secured his leadership post despite having previously lost to Masoud Pezeshkian in the presidential elections. Political analysts note that Ghalibaf has successfully sidelined President Pezeshkian, who has increasingly been relegated to a minor role, leaving Ghalibaf firmly holding the reins of domestic policy and international diplomacy.
