Degel HaTorah MK Moshe Gafni is calling on Degel HaTorah representatives in local municipalities across the country to boycott the police in response to the arrests of draft evaders
“In light of the involvement of the Israel Police in the arrest of avreichim and yeshiva bochrim, lomdei Torah, and so that we should not be partners in harming the Torah and those who learn it, I am requesting an immediate halt to all cooperation with police representatives, including municipal policing units, in all local authorities across the country, until further notice”.
The practical meaning of Gafni’s directive to representatives in local authorities is: not to coordinate, for example, public gatherings or demonstrations with the police, not to attend work meetings with municipal police units on public matters, and to cut off all contact.
