Nasdaq to add overnight trading session in December
The Nasdaq announced Monday that it will launch an overnight trading session to meet rising global demand for U.S. equities, expanding market access to 23 hours a day, five days a week.
The change is expected to take effect December 6, pending SEC approval. The new Nasdaq Stock Market session will run from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. ET.
Trades from 9 p.m. to midnight will be recorded under the next calendar day, while transactions from midnight to 8 p.m. will be reported under the current day’s trade date.
