Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met Argentine President Javier Milei on Sunday afternoon during Milei’s visit to Israel.
The two held a one-on-one meeting, to be followed by a formal signing ceremony for the Isaac Accords, according to the Prime Minister’s Office. The accords are expected to strengthen ties between Israel and Latin America.
Statements are also expected from both leaders and senior ministers, including Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, Transportation Minister Miri Regev, and the CEO of El Al.
A central announcement was the launch of a new direct El Al route between Israel and Argentina, aimed at boosting tourism, business links, and people-to-people ties. El Al said the non-stop flights will begin in 2026.
Separately, Gideon Sa’ar met his Argentine counterpart, Pablo Quirno, and outlined plans to deepen ties, including the new flight route, a $150 credit line for Israeli businesses in Argentina, a memorandum of understanding on counterterrorism cooperation, and an agreement on an AI partnership.
