The US president clarified that the Americans will not take part in such an attack if it is carried out.
The United States has reportedly urged Israel to wait several days to determine whether a diplomatic agreement could be reached with Iran, according to Ynet.
The U.S. argued that if talks failed, Washington and Israel could proceed with joint action, rather than becoming drawn into a series of limited retaliatory exchanges.
Prime Minister Netanyahu is reportedly currently holding consultations with senior security officials.
