NYPD Releases Video of Suspects in Queens Shul Attacks
The NYPD on Monday released surveillance footage showing one of two suspects sought in connection with attacks on two shuls in Queens on July 16.
Police are asking for the public’s help identifying the suspects, who are accused of throwing bags filled with motor oil at Young Israel of Jamaica Estates and Young Israel of Holliswood.
The attacks caused property damage at both shuls. The released footage captures the incident at Young Israel of Jamaica Estates.
Rabbi Moshe Taub of Young Israel of Holliswood criticized Mayor Zohran Mamdani in an interview with JNS, saying that unless the mayor shows the same enthusiasm for visiting victims of crime that he has shown toward perpetrators at Rikers Island, his statements “seem hollow” and fail to inspire.
Rabbi Taub added that his shul had been vandalized with excrement.
