Frum ex-IDF general Ofer Winter touts new ‘Amcha Yisrael’ Party, taps activist Yoseph Haddad
Brig.-Gen. (res.) Ofer Winter launched his right-wing Amcha Yisrael party Tuesday at Jerusalem’s Shalva Center, unveiling a slate that includes Arab-Israeli activist Yoseph Haddad, former Jerusalem deputy mayor Fleur Hassan-Nahoum, reservists, bereaved relatives and residents of communities hit on October 7.
Winter called the October 27 election a “referendum” between Israel’s current leadership and a new generation shaped by October 7 and the war. He said the party would address military policy, Chareidi IDF integration, ties with pro-Israel Arab Israelis, judicial reform and organized crime.
Haddad, who had registered his own party and held talks with Winter, spoke in Arabic and Hebrew, saying he was ready to continue serving Israel on a new front. He was recently involved in a physical altercation with former California congressional candidate Dennis Feitosa, known as “Def Noodles,” during an Israel debate in Las Vegas. Likud officials have warned a Winter-Haddad alliance could split the right-wing vote.
Other candidates include Metula journalist Netali Shem-Tov; Be’eri bereaved widow Sigal Kroanik; former Defense Ministry and State Attorney’s Office lawyer Eran Ben-Ari; Samaria official and reservist Davidi Ben Zion; Col. (res.) Eli Gino, a former Golani commander; Hassan-Nahoum; fallen soldier’s mother Lali Deri; economist Ronen Bondero; and Generation of Victory founder Aviv Ezra. Bondero and Ezra fought October 7 and served hundreds of reserve days.
Winter said the slate unites religious and secular Israelis, Jews and Arabs, cities and border communities, and seeks a broad right-wing government with Zionist partners. He opposes Palestinian statehood, supports Gaza migration and territorial costs for enemies initiating war, and prioritizing Israeli soldiers over enemy civilians.
