PATH SmartLink Cards to retire next week

The final days of SmartLink Cards and MetroCards are approaching. Starting Sept. 1, PATH riders will need to use TAPP Cards or credit and debit cards. SmartLink and MetroCards will no longer be accepted.

Customers must use their remaining SmartLink balances by Aug. 31 or contact the TAPP Customer Service Center at 800-234-7284 to request a transfer to a TAPP Card. Balances can be transferred within six months, through February 2027.
