“Peleg Yerushalmi” Plans Mass Surrender of Hundreds of Draft Evaders

Following recent mass arrests and widespread protests, kobi Israel reports that members of the Peleg Yerushalmi are reportedly preparing an unusual initiative involving the voluntary surrender of hundreds of draft evaders to the Military Police.

According to reports, the first stage of the plan may include approximately 500 yeshiva Bochurim aged 18–20 affiliated with Peleg-related Mosdos.

The stated aim is to deliberately fill military detention facilities and take advantage of what they describe as shorter disciplinary procedures for certain categories of draft evasion cases.

The plan has not yet been implemented and has reportedly been delayed to early next week due to ongoing logistical, legal, and organizational preparations. It is being coordinated through a dedicated committee responsible for registration, legal assistance, and case management.

Sources say there have also been contacts with supporters abroad regarding potential funding for legal representation and related expenses.

At the same time, some participants have expressed concern about legal exposure, particularly for individuals with longer periods of draft evasion, who may face more serious military court proceedings rather than administrative disciplinary handling.
