Pentagon to Keep National Guard in Washington Through 2029

The Pentagon plans to keep National Guard troops on a federal mission in Washington, D.C., through January 20, 2029, covering the rest of President Trump’s second term.

The plan is in its final stages and only needs approval from Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
