Pentagon releases next batch of declassified UFO files
The Pentagon released its second batch of recently declassified UFO and unidentified anomalous phenomena files on Friday, including more than 40 videos requested by lawmakers.
President Donald Trump ordered War Secretary Pete Hegseth last month to begin releasing the government’s UFO and UAP files. Trump first promised the release in February after criticizing former President Barack Obama for divulging “classified information” when he said he believes aliens are real.
The first batch, released earlier this month, included never-before-seen documents tied to already reported incidents, including military videos and materials from NASA’s Apollo 12, Apollo 17, and Gemini 7 missions, where astronauts reported unusual sightings.
The new release includes a Department of Energy report on an unidentified object incident, plus a CIA information report on a 1973 UFO sighting in the Soviet Union.
Another file contains more than 100 pages from the Armed Forces Special Weapons Program and the U.S. Air Force covering a series of sightings and investigations in Sandia, New Mexico, from the late 1940s through the 1950s.
Additional material includes video of a UAP shot down over Lake Huron, requested by lawmakers after the Chinese spy balloon incident, and another video showing a previously unseen UAP shape.
The documents are available at WAR.GOV/UFO, with further releases planned on a rolling basis.
