71% of Israelis don’t trust Trump to look out for them in Iran deal; just 11% say Israel won war
A Channel 12 poll finds only a small share of Israelis believe Israel won the war with Iran or trust US President Donald Trump to act in Israel’s interest as he negotiates with Tehran.
It also shows a majority believe Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s handling of the US-Iran agreement harmed Israel’s interests. The findings mark a sharp shift from years of strong Israeli support for Trump in polling, amid growing concern over the terms of this week’s US-Iran memorandum of understanding and recent public criticism of Israeli officials by both Trump and US Vice President JD Vance, which has fueled perceptions of strain in the US-Israel relationship.
On Netanyahu’s role in the agreement, 52% say his conduct harmed Israel’s interests, 24% say it helped, and 24% are unsure.
On trust in Trump regarding an Iran deal, 71% say they do not trust him to look out for Israel’s interests, 13% say they do, and 16% are unsure. That marks a further decline from last week, when the split was 62% to 21%.
On perceptions of the war’s outcome, 43% say Israel lost, 41% say it ended inconclusively, and 11% say Israel won.
