President Isaac Herzog visited the “Chazon L’Dorot” Center at the site of the Chazon Ish’s home in Bnei Brak, where he was received warmly by local residents.
The President arrived as a guest of entrepreneur and founder of the center Rabbi Chaim Aharon Stanitzky, Bnei Brak Mayor Chanuch Zeibart, and Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu. He was given a comprehensive tour highlighting the history and legacy of the Chazon Ish.

President Isaac Herzog, who speaks out against Lomdei HaTorah, and is considered an anchor of radical left-wing organizations, was received with a warm and embarrassing display of flattery by figures from within parts of the Charedi community in the hall of the holy Chazon Ish in Bnei Brak, in a Talmud Torah institution that for years refrained from state funding and was founded and based on separation from the state.
This took place during the height of the major struggle being led by the lomdei HaTorah over the souls of its children and the sanctions imposed on the Olam HaTorah when yeshiva bochrim are under threat of immediate arrest and dozens of yeshiva bochrim are suffering in military prisons. In this context, a group of people chose to honor and respect Herzog, the president of their state.
Dozens of yeshiva bochrim who witnessed the scene in the heart of the city of Torah felt as if a knife had been stabbed in their backs as they watched from the side the royal honor being given to an enemy of Torah, while Torah honor is being humiliated, along with daily persecution and harassment.
