Prominent Rosh Yeshiva Reb Dov Aharon Zalaznik Passes Away at 81

The CBN team is saddened to report the petirah of HaGaon Reb Dov Aharon Zalaznik zt”l, 81 niftar after a period of serious illness and hospitalization.

HaRav Zalaznik, born in Jerusalem in 1944, one of the Roshei Yeshiva of Yeshivas “Maor HaTalmud” in Rehovot for decades and a leading Torah figure, was a prominent talmid of Yeshivas Brisk and devoted his life to harbotzas Torah, serving for many years as a Rosh Yeshiva and delivering shiurim across a wide range of sugyot, later publishing his renowned series “Bidei HaAron.”

He was among the leading Roshei Yeshiva aligned with the “Bnei Torah” stream of the Peleg yeruslaimi and was close to Maran HaRav Shach zt”l and Maran HaRav Shmuel Auerbach zt”l, continuing their mesorah.

During his time in Bnei Brak he became close to HaGaon Reb Yechiel Michel Feinstein zt”l, later his mechutan, and delivered shiurim in Kadshim for bnei yeshiva throughout the city.

He leaves behind a large and distinguished family of bnei Torah, talmidim, and descendants continuing his path. The levaya took place in Jerusalem, with kevurah on Har HaZeitim.
