Qatar has ordered Iranian diplomats in Doha to leave the country within 24 hours following Iranian drone and missile attacks on its gas facilities.
The strikes targeted Ras Laffan Industrial City, the world’s largest LNG export hub, and Mesaieed, damaging QatarEnergy operations and forcing a temporary halt in production. Qatar condemned the attacks on its energy infrastructure and civilian areas, intercepting several projectiles while demanding Iran immediately stop targeting Gulf states.
The expulsion marks a sharp shift for Qatar, which has historically maintained ties with Iran over their shared gas field. Doha, once a regional mediator, now aligns more firmly with other Gulf nations in response to the direct threat to its sovereignty and energy security.
