Sandy Fire in Ventura County Captured in Livestream Footage

A livestream captured the Sandy Fire flaring up on Tuesday afternoon, May 19, as more than 750 firefighters battled the blaze in Ventura County, California.

The fire started Monday morning in the Simi Valley area, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire).

By Tuesday morning, the Ventura County Fire Department said over 750 firefighters were guarding homes, with the fire measuring 1,385.6 acres.

VCFD reported increased fire activity Tuesday afternoon due to rising temperatures and continued winds. The footage shows a view of the fire from Simi Valley.
