Spanish Far-Left Party EH Bildu Demands Spain Withdraw from NATO Over War in Iran
Mertxe Aizpurua, the spokesperson for the parliamentary group EH Bildu, has urged Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez to make Spain the first country to propose an exit from NATO.
Speaking in the Congress of Deputies, Aizpurua framed the demand as a necessary response to Spain’s alignment with current international military actions.
During her address, Aizpurua condemned what she described as a justified genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza, which she noted has been broadcast to the entire world with absolute impunity.
She further characterized the ongoing campaign against the Iranian regime and Lebanon as an illegal war lacking any cause or justification, warning of disastrous human and social consequences.
