Supreme Court temporarily allows White House ballroom construction to continue
The Supreme Court on Friday temporarily allowed construction of the White House ballroom to continue, freezing a lower court ruling that would have halted the project.
Chief Justice John Roberts issued a stay that will remain in effect until the Supreme Court takes further action, giving the justices more time to consider the Justice Department’s request to pause a district court injunction that was set to take effect at midnight.
The Trump administration asked the Supreme Court last week to intervene and allow construction of the 90,000-square-foot ballroom to continue.
