The CBN team is saddened to report the petirah of Or Eliyahi Marciano, z”l, aged 29, a resident of Susiya, who was killed in a serious accident while traveling through Egypt on his way to Uman.
The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs is working to repatriate his body for burial in Israel as soon as possible.
Or Eliyahi z”l dedicated his life to bringing joy to others and spreading the Torah of Rebbe Nachman of Breslov. He traveled from home to home throughout southern Israel, singing the songs “Avdu es Hashem B’simcha” and uplifting hearts, especially during times of conflict, when he encouraged and brought joy to soldiers at the front. Friends say he did not hold regular employment but devoted himself entirely to “hafatzot” (spreading Breslov Torah).
He participated in this work through the “Nachal Novah” project, always anonymously, bringing happiness wherever he went.
Last night, he was traveling to Uman to spend Rosh Chodesh Nissan, Rebbe Nachman’s birthday. Due to airspace closures, he passed through Egypt, where the fatal accident occurred.
He is survived by his wife and two children.
