The Department of Defense announced Wednesday that it is investigating the overseas death of Sgt. Devin A. Seibel, 26, of Robinson, a suburb of Waco.
Officials said Seibel died Sunday in a training-related incident at Erbil Airbase in Iraq.
An active-duty soldier assigned to the Air Ambulance Company, 2nd Battalion, 4th Combat Aviation Brigade at Fort Carson, Colorado, Seibel was supporting Operation Inherent Resolve, the U.S.-led coalition campaign launched in June 2014 to defeat ISIS in Iraq and Syria.
