Report: U.S. Warned Iranian Warship Twice to Evacuate Before Strike
According to a report cited by Ariel Kahana, an Iranian sailor aboard a warship sunk near Sri Lanka reportedly called his father shortly before the U.S. strike and said American forces had issued two warnings for the crew to abandon the vessel. A source close to the family told Iran International that the ship’s commander refused to allow the crew to leave despite the warnings, prompting arguments among some sailors. The father said several crew members ultimately managed to escape in lifeboats, with 32 sailors surviving the attack while 87 others were killed.
