US citizens can register for organized bus departures from the Jerusalem and Tel Aviv areas to Queen Alia International Airport via the Jordan River/Sheikh Hussein crossing, beginning today.
The US Embassy in Jerusalem said on Monday that it had begun organizing assisted overland departures for US citizens seeking to leave Israel through Jordan, offering bus transport to Queen Alia International Airport in Amman via the Jordan River/Sheikh Hussein border crossing.
According to the embassy, the bus departures began on Monday, March 23, with travelers departing from rally points in the Jerusalem and Tel Aviv areas. Americans interested in using the service were instructed to first complete an online form published by the embassy, after which confirmed travelers would receive their departure dates, times, and meeting-point details.
The embassy stressed that passengers would remain responsible for arranging and paying for their onward travel from Amman, including flights and any overnight hotel stays if needed.
Travelers entering Jordan should expect a 60 dollar visa on arrival in cash and a 110 shekel departure fee in cash.
