Heroic Footage from Gaza Hostage Rescue Released
Two years after Operation Arnon, Israel’s Yamam counterterrorism unit has released helmet-camera video from the daring June 8, 2024 raid in Gaza’s Nuseirat camp. The operation freed four hostages Noa Argamani, Almog Meir Jan, Andrey Kozlov, and Shlomi Ziv all kidnapped from the Nova music festival on October 7.
The clips capture fierce close quarters combat, the moment rescuers reached the hostages, and the radio call: “Hostages in our hands.” Chief Inspector Arnon Zamora was fatally wounded just meters from the three male hostages he helped save. Despite his loss, the team completed the mission.
Yamam commanders described the operation as a complex daylight double rescue in two buildings 200 meters apart.
Fighters eliminated Hamas guards under heavy fire and extracted the hostages in minutes, supported by air cover.
It marked the unit’s second successful live hostage rescue of the war.
The footage honors the bravery of the operators and the sacrifice of Arnon Zamora, who gave his life for the mission.
