Iran Weighs Strikes on U.S. Military Assets in Europe Amid Escalation Fears

According to a report from the Financial Times, Iran has explored potential options to strike U.S. military assets in Europe if the United States orders a renewed military escalation against the regime.

Sources close to Tehran indicate that Iranian forces have assessed potential targets in southeastern Europe, including Bulgaria’s Bezmer air base, which recently authorized U.S. refueling aircraft to operate from its facilities. Cyprus has also been evaluated as a possible target given its hosting of military infrastructure.

In addition to potential actions in Europe, Iranian planners have examined methods to disrupt subsea fiber-optic cables running through the Strait of Hormuz to target critical communications infrastructure.
