Iran Plans Escalation Amid Growing Domestic Unrest – Channel 14
Channel 14 today reported new details of the Iranian regime’s strategic plan to escalate pressure on the United States. According to a source close to the IRGC, Tehran has developed a two-stage plan shifting from absorbing attacks and remaining defensive to going on the offensive.
The shift comes as Tehran increasingly recognizes that the U.S. blockade is working and President Trump is in no hurry to reach an agreement.
First, Iran plans to target energy and civilian infrastructure in Gulf states. Tehran hopes damage to Gulf economies and disruptions to daily life will push regional governments to pressure Trump to ease the blockade.
If that fails, Iran would launch major attacks on U.S. military bases across the region, seeking heavy damage and American casualties. Attacks on U.S. targets in Europe would most likely be carried out by Iranian proxies.
The plan currently excludes Israel, but Tehran understands escalation could draw Israel into the conflict.
Iran’s worsening domestic situation is also shaping the regime’s calculations. Inflation, cash shortages, employment losses and growing public anger threaten the regime. Some officials believe provoking a U.S. response could turn the economic crisis into a national war, redirecting public anger toward an external enemy.
