Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi tells Al Jazeera:
“What is happening now is not a negotiation but an exchange of messages directly or through our friends in the region. I receive messages directly from Witkoff, but this does not mean negotiations.”
“There are no negotiations with a specific party in Iran, and messages are transmitted through the Foreign Ministry, and there are communications between security agencies.”
“The exchange of messages is carried out within a specific framework through the government and under the supervision of the National Security Council.”
“We have not sent any response to the 15 American proposals, and we have not presented any proposals or conditions.”
“We have not made any decisions about the negotiations. We are not satisfied with the ceasefire and are seeking a complete end to the war, not only in Iran but in the entire region.”
“Iran’s conditions include a guarantee that aggression will not be repeated and compensation for damages will be paid.”
“We are not attacking our friends in the Gulf. We only target American bases and assets.”
“In the future, there may be problems in building trust with neighboring countries, but I am sure that we will rebuild it.”
