Israel signals a return to targeted killings in Gaza as tensions grow with the Board of Peace – i24
For two weeks, the Board of Peace’s message was clear: Israel remains committed to the Gaza roadmap and ceasefire. But in recent days, the gap between words and actions appears to be widening.
After more than a week without reported Israeli strikes in Gaza, i24 News reports, the IDF has significantly increased its activity, including strikes on Hamas operatives not necessarily assessed to pose an immediate threat to Israeli forces along the Yellow Line.
A senior Israeli security source said: “We made clear that targeted killings will continue, both against those responsible for the October 7 massacre and against anyone who poses a threat to our forces.”
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reinforced that message during a security consultation, saying the rules of engagement in Gaza have not changed and IDF forces have full backing to neutralize threats.
Meanwhile, an Israeli diplomatic source directly challenged the Board of Peace, saying: “Israel stands by its rejection of the 15-point plan.”
