Mossad and Azerbaijan Foil Iranian Terror Plot Against BTC Pipeline and Jewish Targets
The Mossad, in coordination with Azerbaijani security services, has neutralized an Iranian-led terror cell that was preparing to strike major strategic and Jewish targets.
The plot, orchestrated directly from Iran, aimed to cripple critical infrastructure and attack the Jewish community.
A primary objective of the cell was the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline, a vital strategic asset that transports oil through Georgia and Turkey.
The cell was also actively gathering intelligence for attacks on the Israeli Embassy in Baku and the city’s central synagogue, with hit lists including senior leaders of the local Jewish community.
Azerbaijani authorities arrested the operatives after discovering they were in possession of explosive drones and fragmentation charges smuggled into the country.
Investigations revealed the terrorists utilized physical surveillance and photography to map out their targets under direct instructions from handlers in Tehran.
