Sánchez Labels U.S.-Israeli Actions an “Illegal War” While Pivoting Toward Beijing
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez is back to his usual rhetoric, again labeling the U.S. and Israeli actions an “illegal war.”
While he claims that sticking to “international law” is essential for the future, the irony is hard to ignore—he is delivering these lectures while currently in Beijing to shore up trade deals.
The hypocrisy is on full display as Sánchez distances Spain from its democratic allies in Washington and Jerusalem while cozying up to the Chinese government.
It seems his deep commitment to “basic principles” conveniently takes a backseat when there is economic investment on the line from an authoritarian regime.
