Two Killed in Apache Helicopter Crash Near Salado Texas
A US military AH-64 Apache helicopter crashed Wednesday in a field near Salado in Bell County Texas killing both people on board.
The Bell County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the violent crash occurred off Dove Hollow Lane and sparked a large grass fire that forced the evacuation of nearby homes.

Farm to Market Road 2843 was closed in the area as emergency crews responded. The incident took place south of Fort Hood with the helicopter linked to operations involving the 1st Cavalry Division.
Officials described the fire as out of control at the time of initial reports while the investigation into the cause continues.
