Becerra advances in California governor’s race
Former Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra (D) has advanced to November’s general election in the race for California governor, Decision Desk HQ projects.
Fox News commentator Steve Hilton (R) and billionaire Tom Steyer (D) are competing for the second spot in November, when California voters will choose Gov. Gavin Newsom’s (D) successor.
As of late Thursday night, Becerra had 26.02 percent of the vote, Hilton had 27.19 percent, and Steyer had 20.19 percent.
Becerra is performing strongly with mail-in ballots across all 58 counties and is expected to overtake Hilton as counting continues, according to Decision Desk HQ.
