Ben-Gvir Publicly Faults Netanyahu Over Gaza Framework

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has launched a direct public critique of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Gaza strategy, speaking out against the entry of international “Peace Council” forces as part of a proposed 15-point framework.

Ben-Gvir, leader of the Otzma Yehudit party, confirmed that he stood alone in the cabinet in voting against the authorization of foreign forces and restrictions on military operations.

While acknowledging that the Prime Minister faces significant international diplomatic pressure, Ben-Gvir argued that agreeing to the framework was a fundamental error and insisted that full operational freedom must be maintained in both Gaza and Lebanon.

Addressing calls to bolt the coalition over the dispute, Ben-Gvir dismissed the idea of resigning so close to upcoming elections, stating that voters who support his hawkish stance will have the opportunity to express their view at the ballot box.
