Immigrant Bodega Owners Sue NYC Mayor Mamdani Over $70M City-Run Grocery Stores Plan
A coalition of immigrant-run grocery stores has filed a lawsuit against Socialist New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani over his plan to open 5 city-owned grocery stores that will cost at least $70 million and will likely put the surrounding bodegas out of business due to their taxpayer-subsidized prices.
Fox News’ Madison Alworth: “[The Mamdani administration] has recently walked back comments regarding these government stores… They were exploring grants for local businesses to help them compete with government-run stores.”
“So taxpayer dollars going both to the city run stores and to the stores already exist but the Mayor’s office has since walked that back.”
